Kinder Industries offers custom-made covers for the 505, a high-performance one-design dinghy revered for its speed, precision, and international racing pedigree. Whether you’re training for world championships or simply safeguarding your boat during the off-season, our 505 covers are designed to provide maximum protection and a flawless fit.

Each 505 cover is tailored to the boat’s exact dimensions, including space for rigging and hardware, ensuring a snug, aerodynamic fit. Our marine-grade, breathable fabrics shield your boat from harmful UV rays, rain, dirt, and mildew while allowing ventilation to reduce condensation and prevent damage over time.

We offer multiple cover configurations—including mast-up and mast-down options, top covers, bottom covers, and travel covers—so you can choose the right setup for your storage, transport, or regatta needs. Reinforced corners and tie-down points ensure long-term durability and secure placement during trailering or windy conditions.

With over 30 years of marine canvas expertise, Kinder Industries is trusted by elite sailors, yacht clubs, and competitive fleets across the country. All of our 505 covers are made in the USA and built to the same high-performance standards as the boats they protect.

About the 505:

John Westell of Britain designed the 505 dinghy in 1954 when the French Yachting Association called upon him to establish a new One-Design racing class — the 5.05 metre boat achieved International Status a year later. The rules for the hull shape and sail plan have not been changed in the last 50 years, and today the 505 boat is actively raced in 18 countries around the world. Annual world championships regularly attract 100 or more of these fast, customizable, high-performance boats.
