470

Kinder Industries creates custom-fitted covers for the 470, a world-class Olympic-class dinghy known for its precision handling and competitive legacy. Whether you’re training for elite regattas or protecting your boat in the off-season, our covers are built to match the performance and craftsmanship of your 470.

Every 470 cover is made from breathable, marine-grade fabric that resists UV degradation, moisture buildup, and mildew, preserving your boat’s condition over time. Designed specifically for the 470 hull and rigging, our covers offer a tight, secure fit that minimizes movement during storage or transit. Reinforced corners and tie-down points add extra strength for road travel or rough weather.

We offer mast-up and mast-down options, along with full deck, top, and bottom covers to meet the needs of sailors and programs alike. Whether you’re part of a competitive team, a club fleet, or an independent racer, our goal is to keep your boat protected, race-ready, and looking its best.

Kinder Industries has over 30 years of experience crafting marine canvas products trusted by Olympic hopefuls and sailing schools across the country. All covers are proudly made in the USA with an unmatched commitment to quality and fit.

About the 470:

Designed by France’s André Cornu in 1963, the 470 has become one of the most popular modern fiberglass dinghies. The 470, so named for its length (470 centimeters), achieved International/Recognized status in 1969, has been an Olympic class boat since 1976, and was the boat of choice for the first women’s Olympic division in 1988. An intermediate vessel suitable for a crew of two, the 470’s international popularity remains popular with over 40,000 boats built to date and 65 member nations.
